OrangeButterfly’s rants and raves.

Work, people, drama, love, life, and laughter.

Ok, so I’m working now.   For real.  I’m working at Wal-mart, my name-tag says “Sales Associate”, so that’s what I am.  I haven’t blogged in a a really long time and after today, I’m just in the mood to write.

“So what’s new” you ask?   I have a job, it’s not the best job in the world, but I work hard and I’m good at it so I’m proud to have it.  Which is more then some people can say.  I “Zone” (fold, straighen, hang, re-hang, pick up, put away) clothes.  I mostly work in Ladies but my favorite is most deff. Infants.  It’s awesome over there.  Ladies is the biggest and hardest department.  For the people who haven’t been paying attention, I’m living in Alabama now, and before anyone wonders how I’m doing, I’m just here.   Although life IS better then it was right after I moved here, and it’s even better then 2 weeks ago, I still think maybe I can do some improving.

I’m really excited about the upcoming weekend, I’m working Friday and Saturday, but Sunday (the best of all!) I’m…PICKING UP MASON AT THE AIRPORT!  Tada!  I’m exstatic!  I can’t wait!  I can’t believe his parents are letting him come down here but I’m so happy about it!  I used my first good paycheck on it, but it’s worth it!  =)

I’ve made a friend at work…at least I’m hoping she’s my friend.  She’s pretty kool.  =)

I’m not getting very good hours at work but it’s better than none, I suppose.  I’m really hoping I’ll get back to working days soon, but I doubt it.  Mostly they’ve got me working 5 to 10.  Which sucks.  I’m having some issues with my department manager, even tho I don’t work with her much anymore, I can’t stand the way she has Ladies wear oganized, it’s just illogical.  Cute shirts over Dickies pants, Juniors jackets in the plus sizes, Disney cutesty jackets over shapeless, droopy pants.  =/  Also I think she might be color blind because she tends to put red with pink and green.  (red and pink look like vomit, and red and green look like christmas)

But anyways,  I gave someone from work my blog address and it kind of reminded me I really needed to blog some more. So here it is. =)  Well I’m out for now,  I’m sure this blog is full of typeos but I’m sleepy and it’s midnight so it’s bed time for me lol.  I’m off tomorrow so I’ll be studying as much as I can. =/ So, goodnight blog.

Hey daughter, glad you are happy about Mason. Hopefully, you two will get the kinks out of your relationship and be able to move forward (last I heard you were still fighting).

In regards to your job at Wal-Mart…wow, that’s cool just to type…hang in there and keep on “keepin’ on” as the saying goes.

I’ve favorite placed you so I can read what’s going on with you. We don’t talk much do we? Figured this would be the best way to stay in touch with you. Don’t want to be the dad that never talked or asked to see you.

Yesterday, I was in charge of the “Color Guard,” a 6 man rank dressed in the best uniforms and boots and carrying the US flag (aka the “national colors”), the army flag, the organizational flag (in this ceremony it was the III Corps flag), the army retirerees’ flag, and 2 M16’s. This was for the monthly army retirement and local retiree ceremony here in Killeen. The post comanding General and post Cmd Sergeant Major were in charge. Yeah, it took a while, speeches, anecdotes, etc. It was an honor and we got several kudos. There were a few mistakes in our marching, but they were apparently overshadowed by the rest of the Color Guard’s professionalism. They did really well. Was hoping it would be perfect, but some changes were made that caused an issue we didn’t foresee. Ah well, it’s over now and overall it went very well.

Other than that, I’m like you, just working, doing what has to be done and looking forward to coming home for Christmas. Should be around 23 or 24 December. Best part is, I won’t be going back toFt Hood. I’ll go straight to Ft Benning after my leave. Hooah!

Take care, flower. Love you very much,
daddy
